Historically high temperature belting was woven but the weave pattern was undesirable in some industries, like aluminum extrusion, where the belting weave could transfer onto the aluminum profile. Needled belting of Kevlar, Nomex, and Polyester has now been a market standard for years in the aluminum extrusion industries. The same advantages of high temperature Kevlar, but needled for a smoother finish. These belts are made to order and can be supplied as pads, truly endless belts, truly endless roller coverings, or as backings on timing belts.
Two ply polyester belts are a common specification on microwave pasteurization ovens and post-baking dryers. Common OEMs in this field are Strayfield and Radio Frequency Co. Upson Maybach's replacement microwave belts hold up abrasive products like baked salted snacks or heavy loads like bulk flour.
Air Slide belts are used in low pressure, enclosed conveyors where air is forced through the belt causing a bulk power, such as cement, to fluidize. Air blown through the belt transports the bulk powder along the length of the belt. Air slide belts are made to order and are cut to your desired width and length. Air slide belts are heat treated and will have heat sealed edges to ensure no edge fraying.
